Yesterday was Groundhog’s Day, and today is Great Commercials We Can’t Watch Here In Canada Day, so I was already leaning toward making a cake, but the clincher was when I realized that this weekend is also the celebration of Pinky’s one-and-only Birthaversary.
Yesterday, Juno (Pinky) was 605 days old, or exactly as old as her older brother was when she first arrived on the scene. We celebrated with cake pops. Minus the sticks, because I’m a killjoy — also because, lacking a prehensile tail, I found it impossible to frost these puppies once sticked. Stuck. Oh who cares: chocolate cake!

YUM – and a magazine quality photo to go with it!
Aw, you’re sweet (no pun intended) to say that! All I see are the big (non-deliberate) bald spots on the one in the green bowl!
Reblogged this on 1 Centi Of Happiness and commented:
it’s beauty and cute
Thanks!
it’s really nice looking and must be delicious
you’re welcome
oh what magnificent chocolate- I could wax poetic…or maybe not wax (no buckeyes involved here)
I think it ended up looking better than it tasted. No complaints from the chocolate-coated peanut gallery, though.
I have wondered before how those little cakes on sticks are iced and manage look so lovely. Yours look delish too!
I think there are actual “cake pop machines” that do all of the baking and molding, and there are also special pans you can use to bake the stick right in — I have neither. So how are the really pretty ones done? I wish I knew!
Luckily I have no little people at home anymore to make them for!
Never liked those things on a stick anyway. They were good to look at but cumbersome to eat unless they were hard as a rock.
True enough. I think the ones that are most attractive are actually dipped in a kind of molding chocolate, approved by four out of five dentists seeking to boost their income.
Will eat that in a minute. haha. Thanks for stopping by and a good one.
