When I was a child, Christmas outdoor decorations consisted mostly of lights and maybe the odd wreath.
The big trend now — in my neighbourhood, anyway — seems to be decorating otherwise sad and naked deciduous trees in Christmas balls.

Lovely. The holiday decorations are everywhere now… then soon they varnish for another year.
