Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful

I’m not a huge fan of this thankfulness business (see also: Your gratitude shortlist: 25 thank-worthy things).

But I actually AM thankful to be singing again.  Specifically, singing bass (!) in an all-XX a cappella group.  Our inaugural performance is next week.  I should feel anxious, rusty, out-of-my-depth (in range, if not ability).  But no.  Just thankful.

More at The Daily Post weekly photo challenge.

And bonus content: if you hover over the photo you’ll see the name of another popular song by these composers.  It is KEELING me that I can’t disclose the set list, because it is ORSUM.

Hey, great news. I am very happy for you and hope you have a really good time.

  2. Oh lovely! Maybe you’ll be able to post some video of the event. I was in the city choir when I was young, but I haven’t sung like that for years. I don’t know if I could any more… Have a great day!

Love that song! And happy for you :-)

Thanks! I used to sing with a chamber music choir and we did a concert called “In Praise of Music.” Some beautiful stuff — Brittten’s Hymn to St. Cecelia, for example. The husband of one of the singers (JOKINGLY) suggested to the director that we should sing that ABBA tune. And then we did. Argh. So not the right fit for that group!
